As TechInAsia reports, by the end of next year, flying robots created by Infinium Robotics will serve you beer at one of the five outlets owned by Singapore’s most popular restaurant cum bar chains, Timbre Group.

Infinium Robotics CEO Woon Junyang tells Today Online that the cost of creating and deploying these robotic waiters - dubbed the “Infinium-Serve” - is estimated to be a “low seven-figure sum” for the five outlets. Singapore has been facing a labour crunch -– especially in the service sector, which makes up about two-thirds of the economy - due in part to stricter foreign worker restrictions that have been imposed year-on-year in the island-state’s recent history. Woon believes that robotic solutions will be the key to alleviating the problem, by taking away the mundane tasks and freeing up human labor to focus on other important tasks.
